I got cauliflower yesterday. I was hungry for fried cauliflower. I missed breaded fried cauliflower my mom made. To be honest, it's not only cauliflower. I am missing all my mom's cooking.
Anyway, I decided to cook cauliflower but I didn't have panco (chunk of bread). So I made fritter. It was good with lime juice and salt. Simple and good for beer!

Kintaro

This pub is popular among Japanese business men and it is busy on a week day. The food on the tray was lined up on the bar counter and you point to them to order.
I had eggplant, pickled fish, marinaded fried fish and Oden. We had 3 bottles of beer and the total cost R$49. This pub had beer, Serramalte, which was good. I like it the best in Brazil so far.

It is rare for me to have salad for breakfast. I went to an organic market this morning and got fresh nappa letuce. I added an organic carrot I bought last week and made salad. I liked it!
We went to Liberdade this evening. I was going to take J to a Chinese restaurant, Campeao, but it was packed. It was very disappointing. It has really good food and I want J to taste it. So I picked Kintaro, which is a Japanese pub.

Kobu-Ninjin

I like this! I bought many carrots and tried having them in different recipe. I use dashi-konbu, which is seaweed for making broth. So I don't need to add bouillon. It's a natural flavor.

Ingredientes :
1 middle carrot - chop finely
1 dashi konbu (5cm x 5cm) - cut finely by scissosrs
1 dried shitake
1 slice of ginger - mince
1 pinch of salt
2 tsp of soy sauce
1 cup of water

Preparations :
1. Bathe shitake in the water until getting soft
2. Chop shitake finely. Keep the water
3. Put shitake, water and all other ingredients in the pot
4. Cook it on the small heat until carrot gets tender (about 15 minutes?)

I usually make dinner in the morning for hungry boy. I come back home late and it is no way that he can wait. This morning, I was preparing dinner at the kitchen as usual and showed it to J. He pointed at azuki-gohan and said "I don't like it". He sounded like he was making fun of my cooking. He must have thought that azuki gohan was my original recipe. Ok, it is the last time I make azuki gohan. But it is not what I made up. Azuki gohan is a traditional Japanese food. It is served at celebration party or happy occasion. The real name of azuki gohan is "Sekihan", which means red rice. We cook azuki beans and glutinous rice. During cooking, the bean colour rice to pale red.
I use regular rice not glutinous one. That's why I call mine, azuki gohan. Wait a minute. J might be right. In any way, I arranged the basic recipe and made it up?

It was the first time for me to eat atemoya. Is it called sugar apple in English? J has not had it before, either. It was good. It tastes like mixed pear and banana. Can't imagine? It is difficult to discribe. According to Wiki, the sugar apple grows in warm places, so it is harvested in Florida too. It would be nice if I can get it in the U.S.

Ramen

Dinner

It was Sunday, but I had to go to a party on business. There were tons of food. I had ate just a little bit of sashimi and sushi, because I had known that I HAD to eat ramen at a different business place. The ramen was good. According to a person who was in charge of ramen soup, he used 15kg chicken bones and 15kg pork bones to make broth. It can't be bad ramen!
I have to remind you that I live in BRAZIL. I think I am lucky to be surrounded with Japanese food!

Lunch

This is very rare for me to make breakfast on the weekend. I usually wait for J to make breakfast. As soon as I see J go to the kitchen, I say "I want it, too!"
But today, I felt like I wanted to cook. (Be caferful, you might have a snow and storm tomorrow!)
I have not published my blog for while, but I had a lot vegetables as usuall.

Finally!

I moved to a new place in the same town. The old apartment was too big for J and me and it was not cheap. Well, thinking of the facilities, it was a good price. I say I don't make enough money and didn't have time to use those facilities.
I didn't publish blog, but I was fine and healthy. Sometimes I had eaten crappy food I never want to show on the blog. Anyway, I am back.
I will keep what I eat every day and the restaurants that I went.

This is what I had been doing while I was away from the blog.
